Every source this archive uses is recorded here in one place — the full item record, its classification, and the text transcribed from it. Elsewhere on the site each section ends with a line naming the source it rests on; the full account of it is on this page.

- MON-001

Shri Multan Singh Varma ji ki Sankshipt Jeevani
MSV-ARCH-PUB-001- Author
- Om Prakash Gandhi, lecturer in geography, Gochar Krishi Inter College, Rampur Maniharan, District Saharanpur
- Printer
- Chaudhary Printing Press, Rampur Maniharan, Saharanpur
- Editions
- First 1982, second 2023, third 2024. The preface is dated 15 May 1982. Which edition the photographs come from is not yet established, and differences between the three texts have not been checked.
- Composition
- By the preface, the account was written from Multan Singh Varma’s own telling, together with facts gathered here and there at second hand — partly direct testimony, partly compiled hearsay, mixed in a single text and nowhere distinguished.
- Author’s own caveat
- He writes that he does not consider it entirely free of factual inconsistency, and undertakes to include proper corrections in the next edition. This archive’s verification policy follows the condition the source set for itself.
- Classification
- Later publication (tier 3), written within the subject’s lifetime and from inside the institution; since its basis is the subject’s own account, it carries some tier 2 value too. The author was appointed in the same year Varma retired (1962).

Middle plaque
“This statue is of the late Shri Multan Singh Varma. On 13 June 1943 you founded the Gujar Vidya Pracharini Sabha, Muzaffarnagar–Saharanpur Circle. On 1 November 1943 you opened a small school at Rampur Maniharan, which, before retiring as principal of the inter college, you had raised to degree level. As long as this institution stands, your name will endure.”
Upper plaque
“The unveiling of this statue was performed by the hands of ‘Padma Shri’ Vitarag Sanyasi Swami Kalyan Dev ji Maharaj, under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chaudhary Narayan Singh (former Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh), on 2 April 1984.”
The middle plaque repeats both 13 June 1943 and 1 November 1943 independently of the booklet — the only point in this archive where two sources meet on a date. The Hindi text above is given as carved, including its spelling of the name.
